Manual Installation

Steps

1. Get a domain and a hosting. (Jcow requires PHP7/8 & MySQL5.) There are a couple of companies that provide both domain registration hosting service.(like Hostgator)
2. Download Jcow social network software from Client Area. You will get a zip file. Upzip the file and you get a folder named "web". Upload the all files except the "my" folder from "web" to your web hosting
3. Open the http://your_domain/install.php on your web browser, you will see an installation form. Fill in the blanks and submit the form. Note that Jcow will not create database automatically, so before you submit the form, you should make sure that the database has been created. Hostgator hosting provides Cpanel, on which you can easily create a database.
4. Once the form is submitted, your network will be created. Go to your network and sign up, you(as the first member) will become the administrator automatically.
5. After signed in, you can see a link name "Admin CP" on the sidebar. Click it and you will go to the admin panel.
6. You are done!

Automated Installation

1. Login to your host and look for Software/Services
2. In Softaculous there is a 'Social Networking' Category. Collapse the category and Jcow will be there. Click on it.
3. You will see an 'Install' TAB. Click it.
4. Fill in the various details and Submit.
5. You are done!
